Streamlining LVNAuth’s Release Process

Since LVNAuth needs to support multiple operating systems (Linux and Windows), preparing a new release requires running several build scripts and manually moving files around—a process that takes a lot of time and involves many repetitive tasks. Admittedly, releasing an updated Snap of LVNAuth in the Snap Store has always been much easier than any of my other release methods.

To fix this, I recently spent some time refining my internal release pipeline so that generating binaries for each new release takes considerably less time.

Starting with LVNAuth version 1.7 (due out soon), this new workflow will be officially in place. From a user's perspective, nothing will change: you will still get a .tar.gz archive for Linux, a .zip archive for Windows, and the Snap listing on the Snap Store. However, generating the binaries inside those archives will now be a much smoother process for me.

Just wanted to share a quick update—and stay tuned, a new version of LVNAuth is coming soon!
